A VOICE

Although this began as a research project for my Women Artists of the American West class and is also a portion of my turn in, I want to continue this research well after the class ends. This is a topic I chose to research for numerous reasons. Two major reasons were: it is not a typical research topic, this fact was reitterated in my process of finding little information strictly about female graffiti artists, and secondly because it is a controversial subject and I like to challenge peoples thoughts. I also would like for my research to continue and provide another outlet for women to showcase their work on this web page. Any females interestede in displaying their work can send it in and I will update the page. The more you send in, the better my site will look. I hope that a larger collaborative of information will shed more light onto this topic.

Timeline:
October 2005 - research process began
November 2005 - interviews were conducted
and final paper was due
December 2005 - I will continue to photograph
female graffiti artists work on a trip to Denver.
12/21/05 - Didn't have any luck in Denver (if you're there let me know). Next stop Boston in Feb. 2006
January 2006 - Check out Mark Ecko's new video game (released Jan. 26, 2006) "Getting Up". I am interested to see if he represents any women of graffiti. Also, I am hoping to get new information and images for the site and update it.
February 2006 - I want to change up the site a lot this month and add new images I get while traveling. I am going to New Orleans and North Carolina. If you or anyone you know is in these areas please contact me so I can photograph your work! Thanks to all who make this site possible.
March 2006 -  I will be going to San Francisco to photograph graffiti in the Bay Area. If you have some work please let me know!

I am no longer restricted to just the west coast so all other female writers out there please share your work on my site.
